Dunhill offered its first wrist watch for sale in 1929.
The basic rectangular design reflected the basic requirements from the first world war.
In 1930 a series of fine gentlemens watches, featuring early luminous dials, their first chronograph and the original
ball race watch.
The current design of Dunhill watches began back in the 1960's with its 18kt gold cases.
The current millenium range, which has been highly successful, started in 1982.
This futuristic range of wrist watches adhered to the basic design principals of,
baton sweep second hands only, no subsidary dials (except on the multifunctionals or chronographs)
no arabic numerals, date calendar at 6 O'clock, gold bezel within case, broad single lugs; protected
crowns and sapphire glass for maximum protection.

Along with numerous watches that Dunhill has put out over the years, which are very collectable, Dunhill
also put out two other very collectable items.
The first is the lighter with a watch dial in the side of the lighter.
The second is the ingenious belt watch, buy which a watch is embedded within the buckle of the belt
(a catch pops it open such that a wearer can read the time looking down at it).
With all of its watches, Dunhill has stayed true to the original goals of Alfred Dunhill.
