The Breitling focus has, and still is, on the outdoor market place.
Breitling released its quartz steel deep sea in 1985, built to withstand underwater pressure at 1000m/3,280ft.
The unusual feature of this watch is that because helium can permeate anything (including the steel watch case),
it has twin release values set in the case that open fractionally for a few thousands of a second to release built up
helium without letting in water.
In 1979 Ernest Schneider, a pilot and electronics specialist, aquired the company and has been careful to continue along the same
lines of thinking which Breitling has always adheared to :-
